My publishing
house is specialized on books of new generation dealing with
a dog as a highly developed animal, communication with the dog
using its own language, its feelings and the way to build harmonious
relations with it in a human family.
Usually books are being thrown out to
the market into one common pot, and everyone interested selects
from this pot at random whatever he likes. The works of the
school of the experts I publish though can not be just "thrown
out on the market". They have to be brought closer to the
reader, systematically creating a clear picture, which can later
become more accurate as the knowledge grow. This work could
be done within my society "Dogfriend" founded in 2002.
The idea of such publishing house in Russia is a new one. As
an expert in psychology of dogs received in modern Western schools,
multimedia-developer and translator I was able to create a publishing
house, which aims to fill this gap. The distinguishing feature
is the fact, that "Dogfriend" not only publishes modern
classics on the world of dogs, but also acts as a consultant
for dog owners.
Our actual program includes the works of such worldwide known
authors as Anders Hallgren, Turid Rugaas, Clarissa von Reinhardt,
Patricia B. McConnell.
My company is registered in Germany
and Austria, which can be a reliable legal basis for the joint
work.
About me
I was born in Russia, in Moscow, in the
years when there was virtually no Russian literature on pets.
It was normal at that time to keep hamsters in pots, turtles
in cardboard boxes, wild birds in tiny dark cages. I saw the
dogs tortured on chains and in course of cruel animal training.
I felt instinctively that such attitude to animals was completely
wrong. But I had neither the knowledge nor the way to change
the situation.
On coming to the West, I took part in
the practical animal protection, got a degree in zoo psychology.
I have worked both in the West and in Russia, where the attitude
to animals in the last 15 years has been changing positively.
